Pattern grading is the process of taking your base pattern (usually made in one size) and systematically increasing or decreasing its dimensions to create additional sizes — for example, scaling it up from a UK10 to UK12, UK14, and so on.

This ensures that the garment fits properly across a range of body sizes while maintaining the same proportions, style, and design details. Rather than simply “enlarging” the pattern, grading carefully adjusts specific areas (like bust, waist, hips, and length) based on standard sizing rules or custom brand measurements.

we use standard UK sizing however if you would prefer your own specific sizing standard we can cater to that.
